How Rocky Mountain Assisted Living is Responding to COVID-19 or the “Coronavirus”

How We Are Making the Essential Service of Assisted Living a Safe Environment for Our Seniors

Since the first news reports regarding the spread of COVID-19, or the “Coronavirus”, Rocky Mountain Assisted Living owners, managers and team members have been following CDC guidelines for assisted living communities. We hold the health and well-being of our residents and staff as our highest priority. We believe our best defense is to be prepared without panicking.
Amid this, we are striving to ensure our residents continue to enjoy their days with as little interruption to their daily routines as possible. Along with the desire to provide normalcy, we have taken some precautions in accordance with CDC guidelines:

  • Rocky Mountain Assisted Living hastemporarily canceled community outings to crowded areas. Despite this, we are trying to find alternative ways for our residents to enjoy being outside of our homes, including scenic drives and picnics in the park.
  • Providing residents the ability to schedule skype or facetime moments with their loved ones (please schedule this with the staff at your loved one’s home).
  • Posting signage and implementing screening procedures limiting visitations
  • Ongoing and frequent communication with families providing updates. We welcome your support and feedback during this process

  • Hand sanitizing stations are available in several locations in each home

Rocky Mountain Assisted Living recognizes staff as our most valued asset as they are the frontline to everyday interactions with our residents. Therefore, we want our staff to be as prepare and trained as possible:

  • Updated staff training regarding CDC guidelines for infection control
  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting of high touch areas in the homes and home office
  • Extra personal protective equipment (PPE) available to staff including gloves, gowns and disposable masks at each location
  • Reinforced communication with staff to stay home as per CDC guidelines
  • Modified PTO allowing staff to stay home when ill
  • To assure early detection and treatment of COVID-19, we are educating all team members regarding the symptoms of Coronavirus.

Based on our current infection policies and procedures and our small homelike environment, in the past we have had very few cases of the flu. We are taking extra precautions at this time in hopes that we will avoid COVID-19 altogether.

Rocky Mountain Assisted Living is the best company I have ever worked for. I have been a CNA for 22 years and have worked in several different work environments. I have worked in nursing homes, assisted living homes, done home care, run an adult family home and RMAL has provided the best work environment. The residents are very well taken care of, and employees are taken care of as well.

Lisa, House Manager

I was impressed with how genuine and caring the staff are at Rocky Mountain Assisted Living. The owner and all management staff really care about the residents. This was a new transition for my father but they have done wonderful things with him.
